	Square Meals for Shiliye’s Family Shiliye Abdi, 57, a widow, has lived in Kibera for as long as she can remember. She had four children with her Nubian husband, and now supports four orphaned children. When their parents were gone, Shiliye felt obligated to take them in. “Once a child is left with you,” she says, “they become yours.” Before Shiliye joined Village of Love in 2011, she was forced to beg at the mosque in order to support her large family.
